Take Action Now! Auto Racing, A New Human Movement.

Modern geologists accept that the age of the Earth is around 4.54 billion years. Archeologists estimate that modern humans have been on the Earth for about 200,000 years. The first ever organized auto race was just over a 100 years ago on April 28, 1887 In Paris France. It ran 2 kilometers from Neuilly Bridge to the Bois de Boulogne. It was won by Georges Bouton. Early race cars averaged 15 miles per hour. In 1996, Paul Tracy recorded a top speed of 256.948 miles per hour (413.518 km/h) at Michigan International Speedway. Auto Racing has become one of the worlds most watched sports & single race teams are spending over 400 million dollars a year to compete. Formula One can be seen in almost every country and territory around the world and has one of the largest global television audiences. The 2008 season attracted a global audience of 600 million people per race. The total television audience for formula 1 alone in the 2001 season was calculated to be 54 billion. It was broadcast to two hundred countries.

Today’s world contains more types or racing than one could ever imagine. Maybe you thought you were a well informed auto racing fan since you know about various types of racing such as, Sprint car, Midget, NASCAR, F1, Karting, Rally Car, A1GP, Hill Climb, Drag Racing, Legend Car, DTM, and maybe varies forms of road racing including many SCCA divisions and don’t forget the many forms of Dirt Track Racing that I have not already mentioned. But what about the seemingly infinite other forms of racing that exist in so many countries around the world. Have a look at the local schedule for Autodroma Tocancipa for example. Autodroma Tocancipa is the race track local to Bogota, Colombia. The track that Juan Pabalo Montoya got his start. You will find they are racing types of cars that you and I and no one you know has ever heard of, "TC 2000", "Piques", a Latin version of semi trucks, super charged motorcycles and much more. Switch over to the Colombia’s second largest city and it gets crazier. They are racing in the streets with cars jam full of people, its called "Autos Llenos" or "Full Cars" in English. Take a look across the globe and realize that people are racing anything they can get there hands on. In India they race Rickshaw’s with engines; this three-wheeled vehicle with a two stroke engine, The Auto Rickshaw is an amazing race for the clinically insane person in my opinion. From the $400 million dollar a year F1 race teams, to the Auto Rickshaw racing in India we can see that the world is totally nuts for car racing. Billions of dollars, millions of hours, millions of people & countless race cars makes us a racing crazy world.

What does the future look like? Will every household have its own racecar? Will there be more and more affordable options for the average person to compete in a car race? How will technology evolve? Will the Technology developed in auto racing help cut emissions, improve safety for passenger vehicles? Will the innovations make up for the amount of fuel & energy consumed by the sport of car racing itself? Are you ready to attend a race with out the sound of an internal combustion engine? With biodiesel race cars already on the grid at Le Mans algal fuel and a hybrid are slated to join them. Now a Swiss company called Green GT has entered the fray with an electric race car it says will do 170 mph.

It’s your world, your life. Take action now!
